One of the most iconic partnerships in Australian sporting history: Three-time Olympic medallist Shane Rose is appreciated for his dedication, positivity and tremendous contributions to eventing. With Virgil, Shane has contested two World Championships, earning a silver team medal from the Tokyo Olympics and achieving 16 FEI wins, including the 2023 5* at the Adelaide Equestrian Festival. At the time of this painting, and just months before the event, Shane’s bid for the 2024 Paris Olympics on the 19-year-old Virgil was nearly derailed following an escapade involving a golden mankini and a recent near fatal, multiple-bone crushing injury.
